From its inception, Exicom has been focused on providing strong system support for project-oriented organisations and project-oriented companies. We started out wanting to create a system that was different from other business systems, which are often based on logistics and production, leading to the development of Copernicus.
1988 |
Exicom AB begins at its newly established office in Nacka, a suburb of Stockholm. By providing qualified consulting services focused on project-oriented companies, we were able to finance the start-up phase of development of both Copernicus Financial System and Time & Project Accounts. |
1989 |
The first three sales of Copernicus are made – all to advertising agencies. |
1990 |
The system is expanded to take into account more general enterprise projects, making it attractive to players in other industries. |
1992 |
A co-operation agreement is signed with the Enator Corporation, which puts Copernicus into operation in parts of its organisation. |
1995 |
The office is relocated to Stureplan, in downtown Stockholm, where Exicom is still located to day, albeit in premises that have grown with the business. |
1996 - 2001 |
Exicom AB grows steadily with profitability of about 10 percent. Copernicus is developed to include a graphical interface – web interface – and connectors to the larger financial and payroll systems on the market. New, larger, influential customers within the auditing, telecom, industrial, defence and public administration sectors, start using Copernicus. |
2002 |
Copernicus is developed further to include a functional and user-friendly travel expense report, and quickly acquires more than 2000 users. A resource planning module is also launched. |
2003 |
Exicom develops and launches Copernicus Pro. This unique, total solution bridges the gap between project planning and overall financial control, and incorporates IT support for system engineering – project management models.
Copernicus Pro is chosen by customers in both the private and public sectors. |
2004 |
The first Copernicus Pro customers put project and resource planning into action along with the active support measures for the project management model and active parties. During the first six months, a number of companies choose Copernicus Pro as their project tool, while some existing customers choose to expand their application with resources and project planning. |
2005 |
More and more customers choose Copernicus Pro, including two large biotech companies. Copernicus Pro has evolved into a market leading offering that helps customers manage projects from idea to monitored result. |
2006 |
Starts with the exciting further development of line manager resource handling, portfolios for multi-project management and a booking tool for internal trade. |
2007 |
Exicom relocates to larger, nearby offices. |
2007 |
Exicom acquires Silber Software, becoming Scandinavia’s leading supplier of program products in Enterprise Project Management. |
2007 |
Exicom launches five complete industry solutions of Copernicus Pro:
- Copernicus Pro for Professional Services & Consulting
- Copernicus Pro for Product Development & Manufacturing
- Copernicus Pro for Life Science
